When she was 16, Pastor Kristi wore flannel shirts, converse sneakers, and listened to the Cure- and thought "could I be called to be a pastor?" After a long journey through academia- Valparaiso University (BA in Theology), University of Chicago (Masters in Social Service Administration), and the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (Masters of Divinity)- she still wears converse sneakers and is thankful to God for every day the answer is "yes."
Pastor Kristi believes that the gospel still is “good news” (what the Greek word for gospel actually means) and hopes that worship and life at New Light help that good news be heard not just within the church but in the world.
When not planning bible studies, creative worship services, fun activities, participating in the community, or anything else that comes up in life at New Light, Pastor Kristi is busy with her husband Jamie, spending time with good friends, and keeping in touch with her mom in Michigan and brother in North Carolina. She is a Groupon groupie who loves discovering new restaurants and things to do in the area. She enjoys traveling and is working through a list of 50 things she wants to do before she turns 50 years old!
